Paramedics were called to LAX airport on July 19 after things allegedly got heated between Kanye and a photographer.
Kanye West is notoriously private and against photographers and paparazzi invading his space. He’s been especially on edge lately, and he allegedly took a few swings at a photographer who was asking too many questions on July 19. Read on for all the developing details!Kanye West Attacks Photographer Again … Allegedly
Kanye allegedly asked an “especially aggressive” photographer not to ask him any questions upon his arrival at LAX Airport on July 19. Kanye then allegedly “attacked, attempting several punches” when the photographer continued to probe, according to TMZ.The extent of the photographer’s injuries are not immediately clear in this developing story, though paramedics were called to the scene immediately following the alleged incident.
It was originally reported that the victim was a member of the paparazzi, but a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the victim is Daniel Ramos, a filmmaker. Daniel is currently in the hospital, our source says.
“Daniel does documentaries — he’s shot commercials and independent films,” the source reveals. “He’s in the Screen Actor’s Guild — he’s not some random paparazzo.”
The source adds, “Daniel is a very sweet guy — he’s not aggressive. You can see by the video that when Kanye attacked him, Daniel was about 10 feet back and wasn’t getting in Kanye’s face. The questions weren’t rude — he even complimented Kanye and was telling him he’s a great guy. It makes you wonder what is going on with Kanye to make him so angry.”
However, another source points out to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the incident wasn’t as “crazy” as it sounds, and that Daniel ended up on the ground only because he was trying to protect his camera.
“He [Kanye] just tried to grab the camera,” the source said. ”He [Daniel] was trying to hold onto the camera, then he went into the fetal position around the camera basically…As soon as he hit the ground, Kanye let go.”
LA lawyer Mychal Wilson tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that it’s unlikely Kanye will get in too much trouble over the incident.
“Kanye West’s lawyer will argue that Kanye was probably defending himself against continual and unwanted advances by the photographer,” Mychal said. “It is highly doubtful that Kanye would go to jail for something like this, but I am sure the victim will sue him for damages.”
The Los Angeles Airport Police released the following statement about the incident:
Today at approximately 2:00 p.m., at the Tom Bradley International Terminal (on the arrival level curbside), Los Angeles Airport Police officers were flagged down by a citizen (photographer) who alleged that he was taking pictures of an individual when he was battered by the subject. The alleged subject was not at the location nor was he observed by officers at the scene. LAFD was notified, responded to the location and transported the victim to a local hospital for medical attention. A police report was taken by the Los Angeles Police Department and the investigation is ongoing.
Kanye West On Edge With Photographers Post-Baby
Just a week earlier at LAX, Kanye reportedly told a TMZ photographer to “NEVER TO TALK TO ME EVER.”On May 10, Kanye publicly lashed out at photographer after he hit his head on a road sign after being distracted by photographer while trying to protect his pregnant girlfriend, Kim Kardashian. The embarrassing incident has left him on edge ever since.
A source close to Kanye told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY on July 18 that Kanye feared how he might react if faced with a particularly pushy photographer — especially in regards to his daughter, North West.
“He is really scared about how he would react if something happened to his baby with someone trying to invade his privacy on the streets,” the source said.
Kayne isn’t “ready to go to jail over some aggressive photographer,” the source said just one day before news of the alleged LAX incident on July 19. “The last thing he wants is for some … [photographer] getting up in his baby’s face. Oh man, that would not be good.”
